No commitment · Virtual card · We'll let you know when it's ready

The journey of a payment with your Kunga card

So you can see exactly how the card will integrate with your multi-currency Kunga balance.

Moment 1 · 1/4

Pay at any merchant or ATM

Your card will work at any physical store, e-commerce site or international ATM that accepts debit cards on the network supported by the issuing partner (Visa or Mastercard, to be confirmed before launch). You pay just like with any debit card: chip + PIN, contactless, Apple Pay, Google Pay.

At the point of sale

Exact functionality may vary between the initial launch and later versions. People on the waitlist will receive the confirmed details before anyone else.

Three things that change when you pay with the Kunga card

Kunga's transparency philosophy applied to the daily reality of card spending.

No hidden spread on every payment

Traditional cards and many neobank cards apply a 0.5–2% spread when you pay in a currency other than your own, especially on weekends or outside business hours. With the Kunga card, the exchange rate will be the live market rate, with no margin added on our part, and it's recorded in the push notification and in your history.

On €20,000 of annual spending in foreign currency, that's between €100 and €400 you stop losing to hidden spread every year.

A single card for all your currencies

If today you keep one card for EUR, another USD card for the U.S. and a separate wallet for USDC that you convert manually, this card unifies it all. You set which balance to use based on the transaction currency, or let Kunga automatically pick the most efficient one.

It saves you several physical cards, remembering which one to use, anticipated manual conversions and transfer fees between accounts.

Spend USDC without converting manually first

You keep your balance in USDC (a stable operating layer, not an investment) and convert at the exact moment of payment, not before. If you receive in USDC, you spend in USDC; if you receive in EUR, you spend in EUR.

If on a given day you pay in MXN, you convert only that amount at that moment, not your whole reserve in advance.

What you'll use it for

International travel

You spend in the country's local currency with no surprise surcharges. In the U.S. you charge from your USD balance; in Mexico, from your MXN. If you don't have a balance in that currency, you automatically convert from USDC at the market rate.

Cross-border online shopping

Shop on an American, British, Chinese or Latin American site without your bank applying a spread on every transaction. The exchange rate applied is the real one, not the one your bank decides.

USD subscriptions

Netflix, Spotify, Adobe, ChatGPT Plus and other tools that bill in USD, paid from your USDC without losing money on each charge. On 100 USD/month, the annual saving comes to around 20–30 USD in spread.

ATMs in any country

Withdraw cash in the local currency of the country you're in. The fee (if any) is shown before you confirm, not after you discover it on your statement.

What this card will cover and what it won't

The Kunga card is a functional tool to manage multi-currency spending, not a premium product with lifestyle perks. Here's what to expect.

What it will cover

  • Payments via chip + PIN, contactless, Apple Pay and Google Pay.
  • Online payments at any merchant that accepts debit on the issuing partner's network.
  • Cash withdrawals at international ATMs.
  • Automatic charging from any Kunga balance: EUR, USD, MXN, BRL, GBP, USDC and USDT.
  • Automatic conversion at the live exchange rate, with no spread added on our part.
  • Instant push notifications with the full payment breakdown.
  • Temporary lock and unlock from the app without losing the card.
  • Business: cards for multiple users with individually configurable limits.
  • Business: automatic expense categorization and accounting export.

What it will NOT cover (at least at launch)

  • It's not a credit card. It's debit: you only spend what you have in your balance.
  • It doesn't include travel insurance, premium assistance or cashback at launch. These could be added in later versions.
  • It's not a metal card with lifestyle perks (VIP lounges, concierge, discounts). It's functional, not premium.
  • Compatibility with all terminals depends on the final network (Visa or Mastercard) confirmed before launch.
  • Some operations may not be available depending on the holder's jurisdiction or the local regulations of the country of use.

If you have a specific use case that doesn't appear above, tell us when you join the waitlist and we'll evaluate it for future versions.

Cost of the card

Exact pricing will be defined and communicated before launch, together with the issuing partner. Our commitment is to keep Kunga's current philosophy applied to the card as well:

  • No hidden spread on currency conversions when you pay.
  • Market exchange rates at the moment of payment.
  • Fees visible before each transaction where they apply.
  • No surprise charges outside operating hours (holidays, weekends…).

Guarantee for people on the waitlist

You'll receive the exact terms (issuance cost if any, maintenance if applicable, per-transaction fees) before the public launch. You'll be able to decide whether to accept them before activating the card. No commitment or automatic charges for being on the waitlist.

Your card, your total control

A card is only as secure as the control tools you have over it. Here's what will come built in.

Instant lock from the app

Lose your card or get it stolen: lock it in 2 seconds. Reactivation is just as fast if you recover it. No call center, no waiting.

Configurable limits

Set daily, weekly or per-transaction limits. Different ones for ATM, online and in-store. For business, per team member.

2FA on large transactions

Payments above a configurable threshold require additional confirmation from the app before being approved. It protects you even if someone had your physical card.

Real-time notifications

Every charge appears instantly on your phone. If you see one you don't recognize, you lock and report it right from the notification, without waiting for your statement.

Apple Pay and Google Pay

For now the card is virtual: it's added to your phone's wallet when you activate it and you pay with your phone. The physical version will arrive later.

Frequently asked questions about the Kunga card

When will the card be available?

The launch is in the final stage of development. We won't commit to a specific public date until it's confirmed with the issuing partner and regulatory availability is in place per jurisdiction. People on the waitlist will be the first to know once there's a confirmed date.

Will it be a physical or virtual card?

For now, virtual. It will be available instantly once activated, ready to add to Apple Pay or Google Pay and pay with your phone. The physical version will arrive later; people on the waitlist will be the first to know.

Will there be an issuance cost or a monthly fee?

Exact pricing will be confirmed before launch. We maintain Kunga's philosophy of total transparency: any cost will be visible before you accept the terms, and people on the waitlist will be the first to know.

Will it be available in my country?

Availability by country will depend on the issuing partner and the applicable local regulations. When you join the waitlist you indicate your country of residence (or of incorporation, in business mode) and we'll notify you specifically when the card is operational for you, not before.

Can I use my USDC directly with the card?

Yes. It's one of the card's key propositions. You set in the app that your USDC balance is your default funding source, and each payment is converted at the live exchange rate from USDC to the transaction currency, with no spread added on our part.

Does the card accept USDT, not just USDC?

Yes. Both stablecoins (USDC and USDT) can be configured as a balance source. As with the rest of Kunga's operations, we recommend USDC as your main balance for its stronger regulatory framework, but USDT will be available for anyone who prefers to operate with that stablecoin.

In business mode, can I give my team cards with different limits?

Yes. Business operations will include assigning individual cards to each team member, with configurable limits (daily, weekly, per transaction), automatic expense categorization and accounting export. The specific flow configuration will be confirmed before launch.

What if I join the waitlist and then don't want the card?

Nothing. Being on the waitlist creates no commitment or charge. When the card is available we'll send you the exact terms and you'll be able to decide whether to activate it or not. You can also unsubscribe at any time from the email you'll receive or by writing to support.
